Case Study:  Tew and Associates Migration to Managed Services and Cloud Solution

Data-Tech was introduced to Cindy Tew & Linda Schumacher of Tew & Associates in July of 2012. Cindy and Linda were looking for a dependable IT Solution company to help them manage their current premise based local servers and workstations.

After many years running a large practice Joel and Cindy Tew downsized their office to run smaller practice. However, even with a smaller user count and less devices on their local lan, the network still remained very complex. Tew and Associates had the need for IT Support services for 3 Microsoft servers and 6 workstations within the office. They continue to run multiple database applications across those servers to track and serve their current and new client base. They required up to date, secure workstations and physical servers to run these complex applications.

Data-Tech was able to secure and onboard all workstations and servers to the Versa Managed Live Services Platform, (Manage, Monitor, Alert, Optimize, Secure Virus and Malware, Patch and update, including our support portal and Help Desk Services).

Over the next several months Data-Tech continued to assist Tew & Associates with maintaining the servers and systems in a seamless fashion by using our Help Desk Portal Support Service. They were also able to benefit from our all inclusive partial fix fees to budget the IT expenses while maintaining a corporate IT Help Desk and support environment.

Data-Tech scheduled an on location meeting with Joel, Cindy and Linda to review their current server hardware resources and discuss a plan to upgrade hardware and applications with the latest from Microsoft's server operating systems, as well as develop a comprehensive budget plan. This would be their "Technology Roadmap" if you will. During this meeting Joel and Cindy brought to our attention their intention to move offices within the next several months, however, they needed to maintain their current user count and technology they had in place. The outcome of the meeting revealed Data-Tech was a perfect solution for their needs.

Data-Tech was able to propose and produce a low upfront cost Shared Cloud Hosted. This is a typical migration for many of our premise based clients. Rather then a large initial upfront capital expense to purchase new software and new hardware for only a handful of users, Data-Tech presented the Cloud Hosted solution. This is our, shared cloud, per user, per month, SPLA licensing solution, hosted in Data-Tech's Private Data Center.

During the development of the proposed solution, our first order of business was to have the Data-Tech system engineers contact Tew and Associates proprietary software application support group to get required hardware recommendations. Data-Tech then provided a detailed project plan, and timeline. Cindy, Joel and Linda were ecstatic with the proposed solution and pricing.  In less than 30 days we were able to shut down premise based servers, and Tew Associates were totally cloud enabled.

Data-Tech currently has a project and schedule in place to move the main office to their new location. This move is much simpler and less costly process because their servers and applications are already hosted and available while the physical office is in transition. Joel, Cindy and Linda can access all their critical client data and applications as well as email regardless of the local office status.

Tew and Associates now has a State of the art solution with the latest software applications available 24/7 on demand. Tew and Associates access their private applications and data from multiple locations and multiple devices. If they should need any type of support across any platform, our 24/7 Helpdesk with remote portal access is available at their request.
