Title Telnet to device not working externally but does internally
Resolution To resolve the 1st possibility, call the ISP and have them turn the firwall/router in to a Pass through device that will ONLY act as a modem and not a firewall/roouter. If that is not a possibility (may be a case be case scenario), you would then see if you could bypass their firewall/router completely. To resolve the 2nd possibility, check the internal device's network properties and ensure that the IP address is correct, the subnet is correct and especially the GATEWAY address. Edit as necessary. NOTE: If the gateway address is incorrect, the packets will not be dropped in the firewall/router, so you will not see anything in logs that are glaring. The device will not know where to send the data on its end.
